About Dominique
Dominique Burns is a qualified Speech and drama teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience. She trained at Laine Theatre Arts performing arts college first as a semi-student whilst at school, and then as a full-time student studying on the three-year dancer/teacher training course.
Dominique gained her full equity card within her first year of leaving college and has performed in shows professionally in the UK and abroad.
Dominique also continued to study and passed her LAMDA Licentiate teachers diploma in 1998.
Since joining the teaching profession she has worked as a freelance teacher working in academic schools and vocational Performing Arts colleges teaching individual and group lessons and preparing pupils for shows and concerts.
She has successfully entered learners for the ESB examinations and for the performance and communication LAMDA examinations.
Dominique has also entered pupils for the Northampton, Milton Keynes and Bedford Festivals of Music, Speech and Drama with many first, second and third places being awarded in the different class categories.
Dominique has been a member of the Society of Speech and Drama Teachers since 1998 and now runs her own Speech and Drama business in Milton Keynes with students from the age of 7 to adult.
The Performing Arts is still a passion for Dominique and she enjoys attending the theatre to watch dance, drama and singing performances and she strives to pass on her knowledge and expertise to motivate and inspire her pupils to achieve their ambitions.
